Clothesline Incorporated clothesline SydneyHomeless
is a new breed micro charity focussed on becoming the cost effective medium between businesses willing to give and the marginalised communities so desperately in need of "a hand up" in these uncertain economic climes. After just a few weeks in operation, Clothesline is well on its way to becoming the trusted interface between donors and their intended marginalised recipients-at no charge.
There has been consternation expressed by frustrated clothing wholesalers and retailers. With copious quantities of fashionable apparel available for charitable distribution, there have been past issues of major charities receiving major donations, only to see their wares turn up in charity retail stores. Many not only regard this as a breach of faith, but an unacceptable undermining of their brands and in some cases a breach of their distribution contracts.
This need no longer be the case. A local businessman with a commercial involvement in the loss adjustment sector and a long history of charity work fully understood the issues, shared the frustration and decided to do something about it.
Steve has put in place ClothesLine , a fully registered and compliant charity which guarantees that all goods accepted for Charitable distribution WILL NOT BE SOLD.Clothesline are the first and only organisation known to give this guarantee, and are the sole Clothing services agency endorsed by the Sydney Homeless Community. And Clothesline will go that extra mile to ensure that they uphold the guarantee,by conducting distributions personally, at places where marginalised people are known to gather.
Clothesline are interested in speaking to all potential donors of clothing, apparel, workwear, bedding, footwear, rain protectives, and miscellaneous household goods which would be useful to marginalised communities. And if your company has a left field donation, they will discuss it with you-With their prior charitable background, if they can't place it appropriately, it probably can't be placed.
Clothesline can be found every Thursday night 8-9pm distributing clothes to the Sydney Homeless and Marginalised community in conjunction with the Jefs Corner Foodvan Service at the corner of Yurong Pkwy and St Marys Sts in Sydney.
Are you a frustrated community group member looking in disbelief and wondering why none of this largesse ever reaches you?
